What we do
Medical travel is a major decision, and good preparation makes it easier. Before you travel, we help you prepare your medical records so that Chinese doctors can review them. We also help you understand your hospital options.
We help you plan your costs, your insurance and your payment. Finally, we help you know your next steps. Our services page explains each of these services in more detail.
How our information is made
We take hospital information from official sources, such as government notices and the hospital's own WeChat posts. Every fact in our guides carries a date. If we have not confirmed a fact, we say so. When a hospital does not publish a fact, we mark it "not published".
We show you where to check official prices. An indicative quote is a first estimate, and the hospital sets the final price.
Our medical reviewer is Dr. Arif Shah, MBBS. He reviews the guides that compare hospitals. These are the hospital tables, the guides to which treatments are available and the health check-up guides. A line near the end of each reviewed guide shows his name and the date of his review. Dr. Arif does not review our practical guides, our reference tables or this page.
Our editorial team writes every page on this site. Our page on how we check our information explains our method in full.
Our team in China
Our team is based in China and speaks Chinese and English. This helps when a hospital needs documents in Chinese.
It also helps when an appointment must be booked in a Chinese system that is hard for foreign patients to use. We can book such an appointment for you before you travel.
How Alifa Health is paid
Our help with your records, your hospital choices, your next steps and price quotes is free. Four services are paid: help with a visa letter, booking a hospital appointment, airport pickup and an interpreter. We tell you the fee before we start, and you do not pay until you agree.
A few hospitals pay us commissions or referral fees. If a hospital on your list pays us a commission or referral fee, we tell you. When a hospital pays to be on a list, we label it "Sponsored".
On this website, a sponsored card is always labelled "Sponsored", and it is never part of our research.
What we do not do
Alifa Health is not a hospital. We do not give medical advice, and we do not treat patients. We help you prepare, and the hospital's doctors make all medical decisions.
Alifa Education Services
Alifa Education Services helps students and parents who want to study in China. For students under 18, it helps with admission to primary, middle and high schools in China. For students aged 18 and older, it helps with placement and admission at vocational and polytechnic colleges in China.
